Galaxy s7 Edge Nougat Update Overview(New Features)

The galaxy S7 and S7 edge were released in 2016 and turned out to be one of the greatest phones release in 2016. With the new Android Nougat update the phones have become even better with loads of new features to add to the experience.

The first thing that you would notice is the how redesigned the UI is. Most of the changes were borrowed fro the dead sibling(Note 7) of which most people loved of-course.

The Notification Center
The Notification center looks brand-new from the background to the notification label giving it much more of a cleaner look. It has been redesigned in a way that gives you more control of everything, for instance if your turning on the flashlight you can control its brightness by tapping on the word flashlight below that  icon.

Notifications

The notification center can also be used as a search tool, you can now search for anything on the phone and get results from the phone settings, the installed apps and suggested apps that you can install from the galaxy apps store. You can also take your search to another level by also showing results from google.

On top of that Samsung has added a new feature that I have come to love. This feature allows you to reply your messages right from your notification without having to open the app. So now you can reply your Whatsapp test messages right from the notification center

The Settings app
The settings app has also got a revamp from the cartoonish look that I really wasn't a fan of. It's now more on the cleaner side making it a joy to open the settings and tweak your device  how ever you want.

Changing the screen resolution
The new update gives you the ability to change the resolution of your display with three options to choose from 720p,1080p, and the native Quad HD resolution . Changing the resolution can help you to save battery and give you more fluid experience especially when playing games.

1080p mode

Always on Display
The AOD feature has also gotten even more useful providing you with the notification that matters to you. It also adds the ability to interact with apps that sent you the notification. You can also control your music right from the always on display, double tapping music title will give you the controls so you can pause and play the next song.

Always on display

The Camera app
The camera app was gifted with changes by introducing gesture controls. slide from the top to the bottom to switch between the back and front camera, slide to the left and get access to filters  more of which can be downloaded from the galaxy store. slide to the right and get access to the shooting modes

Blue light filter
With the new update the S7 has become more friendly to use in the low light or dark situations as you can now turn on the blue light filter which changes the screen to a warmer color temperature and hence you can use your phone in the dark without straining your eyes.

Performance mode
Another addition to the update is the performance mode which allows you to change the phone's performance from the preset option. You can select the optimized preset, game mode, entertainment mode and even the high performance mode.

 Performance mode

The were also a couple of other minor addition which were also welcomed such as the screen transitions with fancy animations but also the phone app has also been made more colorful especially when making calls.

Galaxy S8 accidentally revealed by Samsung

The Galaxy S8 will launch soon, but until this week’s leaked images explosion Samsung had done a good job keeping its new flagship smartphone secret. Now, however, it appears the company wants to leak the phone itself…
In a pair of new promotional videos for display division, Samsung has shown off new AMOLED panels which are widely expected to be used in the Galaxy S8. But more than this, it ends both commercials by showing the panels morph into an unnamed smartphone with very slim top and bottom bezels:

Does this look familiar? It should because the proportions and missing physical home button line up exactly with the leaked renders of the Galaxy S8 which surfaced just a few days ago.

Google Cardboard Brings Virtual reality to your smartphone!

The idea of virtual reality on a smartphone may sound crazy but not until Google announced the so called Google cardboard which brings VR to your smartphone in a very cheap way. Using your smart phone, special lenses and cardboard you can make your own VR device.

The concept of google cardboard is so simple that you can make it on your own a home. Just click here and see how its made!

Cardboard itself uses a pair of biconvex lenses (these prevent distortion around the edges), along with some regular household items, including magnets, velcro, a rubber band and an optional NFC tag. The magnets are one of Cardboard’s key components, and Google has found an ingenious way to implement them with the enclosure. They’re basically there to “click” inside of demos; when you pull and release the ring, your phone’s magnetometer detects changes in the magnetic field, thus allowing you to navigate the Cardboard app.

The app also uses your phone’s sensors to let you look around whichever demo you’re in. So if you’re using Windy Day, you can look around as if you were in a forest. For YouTube, Google puts the most popular videos around you in tiles; you just look around at the one you want, and then pull down the little ring on the side.

Cardboard is still very early in development but its a very nice little gadget to play around with!

HTC Unveils First "Facebook Phone"

HTC and Facebook unveiled the new Facebook-HTC First smartphone. HTC First is a new deeply integrated Facebook phone that is going to use the newly-revealed Facebook Home user interface.

The HTC First smartphone features the Snapdragon 400 dual-core processor and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS. The device features a 4.3-inch display with 1280 x 720 pixels resolution. It has a 5-megapixel camera with 1080p HD video capture and a flash.

The Facebook-inspired HTC First phone comes preloaded with the newly-announced Facebook Home, a new user interface overlay that replaces the Home screen of select Android smartphones such as the Samsung Galaxy S III, Samsung Galaxy S4, HTC One, HTC One X and HTC One X+ with Facebook's software.

Meanwhile, according to Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, the new Facebook Home user interface/software for Android prioritizes and puts people first, not apps.

Furthermore, HTC's "Facebook" phone will also come preloaded with Instagram, and will come in four different body colors.
